状语从句 (Adverbial Clause)
一. 定义:
状语从句指在复合句中,将______用作状语,起______作用的句子。它可以用来修饰谓语(包括非谓语动词)、定语或状语,或整个句子。
二. 状语从句根据其作用一般分为九大类:时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、条件、方式、比较、让步
三. 1 时间状语从句 (adverbial clause of time)
(1).I didn’t realize how special my mother was until I became an adult.
(2).While John was watching TV, his wife was cooking.
(3).The children ran away from the orchard(果园), the moment they saw the guard.
(4).No sooner had I arrived home, than it began to rain.
(5).Every time I listen to your advice, I get into trouble.

考点一:when, while,as的用法
hen (1)when引导的时间状语从句中的动词既可是_________的也可是____________的如Someone knocked at the door when I was having breakfast.
★When I opened the window, I saw him come up.
(2)通常主句是_______或__________,用when引导的时间状语从句,意为“……正在……的时候,突然……”。
如I was walking along the street , when I met him.
★I was about to fall asleep when my sister came in.
(3)在hen引导的时间状语从句中,用_________表示一般将来时,用_________表示过去将来时如When I have time , I will go to see you.
★He said he would tell her about it when he saw her.
While(1) while引导的时间状语从句中的动词_____________的意为在……期间,往往指时间。
如:While we were talking, he came in.
★ While we were in America, we saw him twice.
(2)当两个表示时间延续的动作同时发生而又具有对比意义时常用while, 在这样的复合句中主句和从句的时态通常是相同的。
如We are cleaning the classroom while they are playing football.
As (1) 表述两个发展变化中的情况用as。
如:As she grew older, she became more beautiful.
……一边……”用as。

(3) 指一个动作紧接着一个动作发生。
如:MI stood up.
考点:ince的用法 (1)Since“自从……, 通常主句用如I have never been there again since I graduated from the university.
(2)since引导的时间状语从句中的动词是的是的He has written to me frequently since he was ill.
