Present Participle
Good morning, everyone ! I’m very glad to voice my idea of Present Participle. The teaching plan consists of four parts.
First, let me talk about the teaching materials.
Part I . My Understanding of the Teaching Materials
Analysis of the Teaching Materials
This lesson is the third part of Unit 12 Modul 4 by Beijing Normal University Publishing Press . The grammar knowledge of this unit is about Present Participle as attribute, predicative, object complement adverbial. The exercises in Discoving Useful Structures are well designed. The teacher can finish those exercises through playing games and add other exercises if necessary.
About the Ss
As Senior1 students, they are at different levels of English. They are eager to learn, but some students may find grammar dull and boring. So during the lesson, the teacher can arrange some games to let all of them join in to attract their interest and let them be confident and taste the joy of success.
Part II. Teaching Objectives
After studying the teaching materials and analyzing the Ss’learning background ,I think the teaching aims are the followings:
1.Knowledge objective:
To learn the grammartical functions of Present Participle as attribute, predicative, object complement adverbial.
2.Skill objective:
To develop the Ss’s skills of doing V-ing exercises.
3. Feeling and attitude Objective :
To improve the Ss’s awareness of cooperation.
4.Teaching key pionts and difficult pionts:
Key pionts: Present Participle used as Object Complement Adverbial.
Distinguish doing having done as Adverbial.
Conj.+doing structure.
Difficult pionts: The use of V-ing.
Part III. Teaching Approches and Learning Methods
According to the analysis of the teaching materials and the teaching objectives,I will use the following methods
