1.课件呈现图片(让学生回忆并复习五年级学过的关于动物的单词,引出新课内容。)T: I’ll give you one minute to remember, how many animals are there in the picture? What are they?
2.Review the words of animals: elephant, lion, tiger, bear, giraffe, panda, kangaroo, monkey, hare, rabbit, horse, whale, tortoise, frog, fish, starfish.(new words)
3. Guess: What animal is it?
(1)Tips A: It has two stong back legs and can jump very far.
Tips B: It usually has brown or grey hair and it’s from Australia.
(Answer: kangaroo)
(2)Tips A: This animal looks like a star.
Tips B: It lives in the ocean. ( ocean means sea)
(Answer: starfish. Learn the new words: starfish, ocean)
(3)Tips A: It loves eating meat. It is yellow and lives in Africa.
Tips B: It is also called the “King of the animals”.
(Answer: lion. Learn the new words: Africa, lion, be called, king)
4. Sum up:
We can use these sentences to describe appearances of the animals:

It lives… It loves… It eats… It is…
5. Watch the video. And try to understand what they are talking about. Judge the sentences according to the dialogue.
