Unit 17 Laughter Communication Workshop---学案 知识点精讲 (一). 生词 1. scare ① vt. to make somebody frightened 使惊恐,吓唬 eg: Ignore him, he is just trying to scare us.\ ② vi. to become frightened 受惊吓,感到害怕 eg: I don’t scare easily, you know. ③ scare sb. Into doing sth. 恐吓某人去做 eg: Some parents try to scare their children into behaving well. ④. scare… away/off 把。。。吓跑 eg: We lit fires to scare away the wolves. 2. strave ①. vt.vi. to suffer or die because you don’t have enough food to eat. 挨饿,使饿死 eg: Thousands of people will starve if food doesn’t reach the flooded area. ②. starve to death 饿死 eg: They will either die form the cold or starve to death. ③. be starved for something 得不到某物,急需 eg: That poor kid is starved for attention. 3. tough ①. adj. difficult 困难的 eg: Life as a single mother can be tough and depressing. A tough decision ②. adj. strong-willed 坚强的,顽强的 eg: The men who work on the oil rigs are a tough bunch. 在石油钻塔上工作的那些人是一群能吃苦耐劳的人。 ③. be tough on 严格对待 eg: My mother was tougher on my elder sister than on me. ④. adj. unfortunate 不幸的 eg: It’s really tough on him-his wife died days ago, then he has all these problems at work. (二)。短语 1. thanks to sb/ sth. 幸亏,由于,因为 eg: Everyone knows about it now, thanks to you! 2. do some good 有好处 eg: Reading some poems does some good to our writing. do sb good = do good to sb 对。。。有好处 eg: It will do you good to have a vacation. (三)。重难点句子分析 1. I swam, pushed forward by the wind and the water. 精讲:pushed forward…是过去分词短语,用作方式状语,可以改成并列结构或从句 eg: I swam, pushed forward…= I swam, and was pushed… The teacher entered the classroom, followed by a group of his students.= …, and he was followed…老师走进教室,后面跟着一群学生。 过去分词作状语用法归纳: 过去分词作状语时有两种意义,一是表示被动,二是表示已经完成的动作,分次的逻辑主语就是主句的主语,否则需带有自己的逻辑主语构成独立主格结构。过去分词主要用作时间状语,条件状语,愿意状语,方式状语,伴随状语,可以改为相应的状语从句。 eg: ①. Seen from space, the earth looks very small.= When it is seen from space, the earth look very small. 时间状语 ②. Greatly moved by the teacher’s deeds, the students did a lot of things to help the teacher. = Bec
