Introduce Experiment Methods Analysis and discuss Conclusions Introduce Hypoeutectic AL-Si alloy is widly applied to such industries as automobile manufacturing, marine engineering. beacuse of its excellent castability, errosion resistance , ductility and high strength to weight ratio. Compared with ZL101, theZL114 alloy with higher mechanical properties and castability. However the eutectic silicon phase in as-cast microstucture is typically acicular ,which has a serious spilt effect on the matrix leading to lower alloy properties . Therefore ,modification is a necessary process to convert the morphology of eutectic Si from acicular to fine fibrous ,to improve mechanical properties especially the ductility. Experiment Methods material : AL114A 、AL-10%Sr alloy experiment step : 1. melting the alloy in a SG2-5-12 type crucible resistance furnace 2. add AL-10%Sr alloy to change the chemical composition 3. the dosage used in the experiment were respectively 0%,0.2%,0.4%,0.6%,0.8% of the weight，the melt was poured at 730°C into the preheated metal mould(320°C ，finally，120mmx35mmx100mm rectangular castings were obtained.) Experiment Methods 4. take the specimens from the casting center ,then polished with a series of mentallographic sand papers(60#,200#,600#, and 1200#) and etched with HF. 5.throughT6 (hardening+temper-ing) heat treatment. 6.use the TMP to observe and analyze the microstructure of the specimens. 2. Influence of Sr modification on mech-anical properties of alloy The mechnical properties of the alloy ,especially the ductility are improved after modification, figure3 shows the influence of different Sr additions on the mechanical properties of ZL114A-T6 alloy. Conclusions The addition of master alloy Al-10%Sr can refine the eutectic silicon phases from acicular to fine fibrous, the modificantion effect is the best when the additon of Sr is 0.04%.
