HAZARDS/RISKS: EXISTING CONTROLS: S L R FURTHER CONTROLS REQUIRED: Modified S L R MANUAL HANDLING: lifting; carrying; musculoskeletal injuries; Manual handling of all materials will be as far as is reasonably practicable kept to the minimum, the majority of manual handling we have to perform is lifting and carrying drums of cable, electrical fittings, trade tools and equipment and this is normal for this type of work. To minimise the risk of injury associated with lifting and carrying materials, all operatives will be given instruction in manual handling i.e. how to lift loads safely and instructed not to attempt to lift any load that is beyond their physical capabilities, but always ask for assistance; operatives will always take into consideration: the weight of the load; the size and shape of the load; the distance the load will have to be carried; the terrain over which the load will be carried; Note: materials will be delivered and unloaded in the service bay and then they will be transferred to the service lift which will then take them to the required floor level of the building, and then operatives will manually handle materials to the work activity area. 2 2 M ACCESS EQUIPMENT: falls from height; over balancing incidents; All our access equipment will conform to Class 1 industrial heavy duty type - high frequency and onerous conditions of use on construction site, no domestic quality equipment will be used, and to enable operatives to gain extra height to reach the work activity point we will use a s
