Unit 1 - Settlements Geography Year 10 About the unit This unit deals with the theme of settlements. Pupils learn about patterns and processes by investigating the nature of settlements. They consider the concept of urbanisation and its impact on urban areas. They study the topic at a range of scales – local, regional, national, international and global scale. As part of their investigations, they have the opportunity to develop further their geographical map skills. This unit is expected to take 14–20 hours.
