Betulinicacid(BA)belongstolupane-typetriterpenesanditsderivativesshowawiderangeofhealthbenefits,suchasanti-cancer[1],anti-HIV[2],anti-virus[3],andanti-malarialactivities[4].Inparticular,BAshowsase-lectivelyinhibitoryactivityagainstmelanomacellswithnosideeffectsonregularones[5].Despitethesepromis-ingactivities,commercialapplicationofthiscompoundislimitedlargelyduetoitsshortsupplyfromnature.BAaccumulatesatlowquantitiesinmanyplantsincludingSyzygiumjambos[6],Ziziphusjujube[7],DiospyroskakiThunb[8],andBetulaplatyphylla[9].OftheseBA-producingplantspecies,BetulaplatyphyllaisthemajorsourceofBAforthedrugmarket.TheproductionofBAhasheavilyreliedonthephytochemicalextractionfrom
