1.Have the pupils look at the pictures on pages62-63.Show the pages on the screen.
2.Talk about the picture .Draw the pupils’ attention to people’s clothing, the decorations, and what they are doing. Learn the new word :festival. Ask the pupils to guess what festival it is .
Guide the pupils to understand that Ben wants to know more about the Spring Festival, And Xiaoling and Janet are telling him about it.
3. Set a purpose for listening to the dialogue: Ben wants to know more about the Spring Festival. What will Xiaoling and Janet tell him?
Let’s listen and find out.
4. Play the recording all the way through; pupils follow by looking at the text in their books. And answer the questions.
5.Conduct reading aloud and practice on the dialogue. Divide the class into 3 groups; pupils will read the dialogue in the roles of Ben, Janet and Xiaoling.
5.Pupils repeat the dialogue.
