NURS 3622 VC Fundamentals of Nursing Theory Syllabus COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course introduces students to the historical perspectives of nursing, the health care system today, and the role of nursing as a profession and a practice. The fundamental concepts basic to nursing such health and wellness, growth and development, nursing process, communication, and holistic health are introduced. A strong emphasis is placed on the acquisition of theory and skills necessary for the practice of nursing. Students will learn Standards of Practice and Ethical and Legal principles related to patient care and professional practice necessary to practice professional nursing.
