Building History of the School The Dr. Elmer S. Bagnall School was originally built in 1964 to house 400 students. It was modified in 1991 with additional classrooms to house approximately 550 students. By 1998 there was a need for further expansion and two portable classrooms were added to take another 40 students. Currently the student population fluctuates between 650 and 750 students. Approximately four years ago, the Capital Improvement Committee, an advisory group reporting to Selectmen, concluded that serious consideration should be undertaken to expand and modify the school.
