Unit 4 The Present Progressive Passive Voice (一) 语 态 分 类 英语动词有两种语态，主动语态和被动语态。主动语态表示主语是动作的执行者，被动语态表示主语是动作的承受者。如： They will build a new bridge over the river. (主动) A new bridge will be built over the river. (被动) 汉语中常用“被”、“给”、“由”、“受”等词用来表示被动，而英语用：助动词be + 及物动词的过去分词构成。 现在进行时的被动语态基本用法： 表示现在正在进行的被动动作。 e.g. Mary is being interviewed now. —My car is being repaired now. —What’s the matter? 2. 表现阶段正在进行的被动动作。 The disease is being studied at present by scientist. The life of the panda is being studied at present . 现在正在研究熊猫的生活环境。 2) 现在进行时的被动语态形式： am / is / are＋being＋过去分词。 它的否定形式是把not放在第一个助动词之后,即am/is/are＋not＋being＋过去分词。 You are not being watched . 疑问形式是把第一个助动词放到句首，句末改为问号，即Am/Is/Are＋主语＋being＋过去分词？ Are you being watched ? 特殊疑问句的形式: 把特殊疑问词放在一般疑问句前面。 What is being done on the new medicine. How many bridges are being built in the village? 3. Prepare for writing (I) Mary: Peter, look at these pictures. What is happening? Peter: Oh, my god. ___________________. ① trees/ cut down / villagers ② rivers/ pollute / factories ③ wild animals/ kill / people ④ people/ punish / actions Trees are being cut down by the villagers. Rivers are being polluted by some factories. Wild animals are being killed by people. People are being punished by their actions.
