Lesson plan
Background information:
Students: 45 students from No.8 middle school in Yuxi, Grade 2, level 4.
Lesson duration: 45 minutes.
Teaching objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
Talk about problems in English.
Ask and answer questions for some problems what they will face.
Know and use some know words to express their ideas.
Give advice to others.
Learn to be a good listener in daily life and be a good friend.
Teaching contents:
Vocabulary of problems.
Sentences.
A: What is wrong? B: My clothes are out of style.
A: What is the matter? B: I argued with my best friend.
A: What should I do? B: You could write him a letter.
A: What should he do? B: Maybe he should say sorry.
A: What should they do? B: They should talk about their problems.
Teaching aids:
Tapes, Blackboard, Pictures, PPT.
Type of the lesson: vocabulary and listening.
Teaching procedures:
Step1. Review (10mins)
a) Students talk about some words what we have learned last week. (Swimming, bored, less work, doctor)
b) Students open the textbook and turn to page 10, look at the pictures in the textbook think about the topic for this unit and finish the exercises in 1a according to their knowledge.
c) Students volunteer to present their ideas about how to solve the problems with others in our class.
d) Teacher summarizes, and writes the new words on board.
Step2. Learn the new words (15mins)
a) Turn to page 104 to learn the new words and expressions in unit2.
b) Students learn to read the words in right pronunciation.
c) Students learn the usage of the new words in unit2.
d) Students read after the types.
e) Students identify the parts of speech.
Step3. Listening practice (7mins)
a) Listen and circle the problems you hear in activity 1a.
b) Listen. Peter’s friend is giving him advice. Circle the word “could” or “should”.
