Unit 4 Pets Teaching aims: In this unit the pupils learn to understand: What is the Wizard’s pet? Fly like a budgie; run like a rabbit; swim like a fish; eat like a hamster; sit like a dog; roar like a tiger. In this unit the pupils learn to use: cat, dog, mouse, fish, budgie, rabbit. What have you got? A (hamster). (Linda)’s cat is brown and white. Have you got a pet? Yes ,I have. What is it? A (hamster). One mouse---three mice. Teaching key and difficult points: Say a chant. Listen to a tape and finding out what the wizard’s pet is. Listen to interviews from the tape and finding our about the pets of British children, and completing sentences about the children from their interviews. Understanding instructions and miming actions, listening to the tape and filling in the numbers. ● Teaching steps: First lesson Content:1、 Warming up 1、Sing an English song. 2、Review colours and things. 二、Presentation: Introduce the new vocabulary: cat , dog, mouse, frog, etc. Use the animal pictures: “What’s this?” “It’s……” Read this word after teacher. Point name read this word. In this way to teach other words. Learn the chant’s sentence. ⑴ Read the sentence “Have you got a pet?” ⑵ T: What have you got? A cat and a dog, a mouse and a frog. Then point a pupil ‘s pet ask:“What have you got?”,teacher answer: a …… Read the sentence after teacher. read the chant. Listen to the tape, then say the chant with the tape. 三、Practise: Say the chant together, and then clap their hands. Second Lesson Content: 5、 Warming up 1、Singing an English song. 2、Review colour. 3、review pet Guess game. 二、Presentation: The pupils choose their favourite animal from those draw and colou it in. They can us more than one colour, but only those they know in English. Go to one og the pupils and without looking at the animal pr the colour he/she has chose, ask “Have you got a pet? ” the suggest the answer “Yes, I have.” The pupil repeats the answer and the teacher continues the dialogue with what is it
