For most of us, it was the first time we left home and lived in a new environment. Ms. Wang was our Homeroom and Math teacher. During our two years there, we were showered by her care and dedication. Ms. Wang received a bachelor degree in Mathematics from Fudan University in the 60’s and spent her entire career at Fuzhong. She was instrumental in helping us grow and excel in our formative years. Her dedication left a lifelong impact on my classmates and myself.Two years before Ms. Wang passed away from lung cancer, she wrote a letter to my class. After 23 years, we could still feel the same caring and warm messages as before. And our bond grew ever stronger during the time Ms. Wang battled cancer, as students from all over the world sent regards and material help. It is our deepest sadness that Ms. Wang passed away in 2005, but it is her dedication to her students and her love and caring that my class wants to forward to the next generation students. And this is why we set up the “Give A Hand” Wang Jia Lian Scholarship. * Yongchun Wu was president of class of 1979-3. He graduated from Fudan University in 1984 and has a Master degree from Michigan State University.
