I expect credit card transactions to be discreetly handled. Time to Train: 25 minutes Why is this task important for you and our guests? WHAT / STEPS HOW/ STANDARDS TRAINING QUESTIONS 1) Utility of Advance Credit Card Authorization Advance Credit Card Authorization can ensure a smooth check-out upon guest’s departure and expose potential billing complications. Is this really “all that smooth” for the guest? 2) Special attention The Validity/expiry date of the credit card must be checked. Approval codes must be obtained for all credit card transactions. If an approval code is already obtained for a credit card transaction but guest subsequently decides to pay in cash, the code must be canceled. Why do I have to check the expiry date of the credit card? 3) Obtain and imprint credit card Obtain the guest credit card and take an imprint. Why do I have to imprint the credit card? 4) Obtain authorization code Obtain the authorization code according to the guest’s length of stay. Why do I have to obtain the authorization code? 5) Contact the bank in case any difficulties If there are any difficulties in obtaining a guests’ credit card approval, the bank should be contacted immediately.
