Eg: If I were you, I would give up smoking. If I had time, I would learn French. If you had taken my advice, you would not have failed the exam. If I were to do it, I would do it in a different way. 2) if 的省略： 在正式文体中, 有时可以把虚拟条件句中的连词if省略, 而将were, had, should等动词提前到主语前面形成倒装。 ①If I were you, I would choose this one. =Were I you, I would choose this one. ②If you had come earlier, you would have caught the bus. = Had you come earlier, you would have caught the bus. ③If it weren’t to rain tomorrow, I would go climbing. =Were it not to rain tomorrow, I would go climbing. 注意： ①在省略的条件句中谓语动词是否定形式时，不能用动词的省略形式。 ②虚拟语气中, 条件从句的动词动作可以和主句的动词动作时态不一致。 Eg: If you had followed my advice yesterday, you would be better now.
