Lead content 300ppm, scheduled to drop to 100ppm on August 14 this year. Lead in paint and surface coatings 90ppm. Phthalates – 0.1% content limit for 6 types. CPSC has convened a Chronic Hazard Advisory Panel (CHAP) to do more research into phthalates and possibly recommend restrictions on other phthalates. Tracking labels – CPSC working with other regulators to establish harmonized international standards for tracking labels. First product to be worked on is strollers. 3rd party labs: As of February 22, 2011, CPSC had approved 329 labs in 34 countries to test products to be sold in the United States. Almost one third of those approved labs are located in China and Hong Kong.
