Ms. Secopito: Please welcome Mr. Carlo Laserna. Mr. Laserna: Good morning, I would like to welcome you all to the 1st Filipino Martial Arts Congress. Itong congress na ito, we started this with the idea of forming a consensus among the Filipino martial arts instructors. Ang gusto lang naming mangyari sa huli, pagtapos nito, for everybody to agree on a particular issue about arnis. We’ve invited top arnisadors and the leaders of the Filipino martial art community to discuss the prospects of Arnis this morning. So we’ll take a slight deviation from the program, ang agenda natin ngayong ay yung Martial Arts Congress, which will be a debated discussion about the prospects of arnis, later on we’ll be doing a presentation on the International Festival which the Philippine Sports Commission claims to be the first sporting event held in the Philippines bigger than the SEA Games that will be hosted. Actually, this is an Olympic scale event it will be spearheaded by the UST Martial Arts Club, including all the people here, I would like to welcome you all again to the 1st Filipino Martial Arts Congress and I hope this could be the start of something bright and new for the Filipino martial arts community. I won’t mention the agenda for today but later on we’ll be coming up with the presentations and discussions para kayo naman mismo ang makapagsalita about the arnis community in the Philippines.
