PROCUREMENT PLAN FOR FIRST 18 MONTHS OF NGRBP General Project information Country : India Borrower : Government of India Project Name : National Ganga River Basin Project (NGRBP) of the GOVERNMENT OF INDIA aims that the National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA): builds capacity of its nascent operational-level institutions for managing a comprehensive Ganga clean-up and conservation program; and reduces point-source pollution loads through sustainable interventions at selected locations on the Ganga. The project will have two components relating to institutional development and priority infrastructure investments. The first component would seek to build the institutional capacity to effectively implement the overall NGRBA program, including infrastructure investments funded by the second component. The total project cost is estimated at about US$1.55 billion including counterpart funding from the center and the state governments.
