Received the 2008 Dean Newnan Excellence in Teaching Award for Faculty in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering 2007-2008 SJSU Teacher Scholar: Designed an educational research project on “Exploring SJSUs Dual Mission of Professional Preparation and Liberal Education: Understanding Why Our Students Want a College Degree” Teach undergraduate and graduate classes in semiconductor processing, renewable energy, electronics materials, materials characterization, kinetics, and introductory materials science. Lead-PI and Director of a multi-university curriculum development program on “Development of Project Based Modules for Introduction to Materials Engineering” (National Science Foundation sponsored for $350,000). Co-developed a new course in advanced thin film processing that integrates statistics and design of experiments into the labs and a new course on MEMS fabrication and design. Developed the College of Engineering’s Renewable Energy Engineering Developed a summer workshop in microelectronics processing for community college and high school educators.
