In comparison with cold forging, lower forging pressure are required and materials with higher carbon content and higher alloyed steels can be used. Nevertheless, the tolerances which can be achieved are almost as close as those reached by cold forging. Using a combination of warm and cold forging, complicated geometric forms can be manufactured with the same precision as with cold forging.
