Adam and Eve The LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a helper suitable for him. The LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept. Then the LORD God took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Tree of Knowledge The Lord God commanded the man,“ You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.” The serpent beguiled the woman, and said unto her, Ye shall not surely die. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. So the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. Finally, the LORD God punished them. And Adam called his wifes name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. Adam and Eve had to leave Eden, human history began. The two worked long and hard to wrest a living from the earth. Eventually, they grew old and died, but not before they had borne children. The first two were their sons, Cain(该隐)and Abel（亚伯）. * * *
