摘要
现在不同人群之间的交流日益频繁。人们在相互接触的过程中遇到了许多障碍。禁忌语的差异是跨文化交际中易被忽视但却至关重要的一个问题。在跨文化交际中, 人们欠缺对禁忌语的了解以及对其重要性的认识。实际上冒犯禁忌比其语用失误造成的后果更严重, 它往往导致交际故障, 甚至是整个交际的失败。
在教学领域,成功地培养学生跨文化交际能力已成为新阶段英语教学的主要议题之一。大学生有必要学习了解禁忌语,克服文化障碍,提高跨文化交际意识。
本文首先总结前人理论,介绍了禁忌的背景知识,以及中国和英语国家禁忌语的相似性和不同点。然后,通过总结50份关于禁忌语的调查问卷和对其中10名学生的采访发现中国学生容易触犯英语禁忌,并且根据调查问卷的结果分析了其中的原因。最后给大学英语教学提出了建议。
