Nanjing, 211101, CHINA wangliyi1979@ ABSTRACT Collaborative Writing is an intellective group task( McGraths typology of tasks).[1] It is faced with a lot of technical problems, such as concurrency control algorithms, operational transformation, multi-versioning, optional locking and group undo and so on. It is also faced with a set of social issues that support and improve the team work. Some researchers have put forward some technology to settle the syntactical and semantic consistency, such as integrate semantic constraints to the operational transformation approach. But collaborative writing researching and developing has not settled the problem of writing processes radiation but outcomes convergence. In long-distant collaborative environments, people with different background will make different comprehension to the same topic. Thus will lead the group away from the point and the outcome can reach convergence. To solve this problem we propose to integrate Ontology to the Collaborative writing system, using Ontology to monitor the whole composing process. This article describes the collaborative writing process, and represents the collaborative writing model based on Ontology. Keywords Collaborative Writing, Ontology，Consistency INTRODUCTION Computer supported collaborative writing includes collaborative authoring and collaborative editing, which is related to computer technology, information technology, sociology and psychology. In a true Co-authoring and Co- editing process, the group assignment is a true joint task, all members contribute to the interaction most of the time and each has equal control over the text as well as within the interaction. Today the commercial and academic documents
