Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the Asian Society of Andrology and the Local Organizing Committee, I wish to extend my cordial invitation to the Second Asia- Pacific Forum on Andrology ( 2nd APFA) to be held in Shanghai, 19-23 October 2006. The theme of this Forum is “Promotion of Male Reproductive Health: From Scientific Investigation to Public Participation”. The Scientific Committee, under the guidance of Advisory Committee, has designed a comprehensive scientific programme composed of different basic and clinical areas reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of Andrology. The Forum Topics will feature current trends on the state-of-the-art and foreseeable future development spanning all areas of Andrology, including: Male Reproductive Health: Global and Regional Perspective Andrology in the Post-Genomic Era Male Contraception: State-of-the-Art and New Approach Male Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Technology Reproductive Endocrinology for Aging Male Prostate and Male Reproductive Health Male Sexual Function: Basic and Clinic Studies RTIs/STDs/HIV/AIDS: Male Aspect Complementary Medicine and Andrology In addition, there are several workshops, including erectile dysfunction, prostate disease, assisted reproductive techniques, androgen treatment and standardization of semen analysis. The Local Organizing Committee will also arrange social programmes in which participants may experience extraordinary Chinese culture and hospitality during the October, which is the golden season in China. We look forward to welcoming you to the 2nd APFA, Shanghai, China, which no doubt will be a memorable occasion for fruitful interchanges of ideas and the development of long-lasting friendship in the coming years.
