Do you want to go swimming? Yes, I do. When do you want to go? At three o’clock. Vocabulary: watching, doing, eating, cleaning, playing, swimming, shopping, reading, pool, mall, library Learning strategies: Cooperating Section A Teaching aims: Master the new words: clean, read, happy, sure, wait, toy, shopping, camera, bird, pool Learn to use the verb phrases: eat dinner, watch TV, do homework, read a book, write a letter, wait for, clean the room Learn to talk about what people are doing: What’s he doing? He’s reading. Is Nancy doing homework? Yes, she is. No, she isn’t. Teaching steps: Step1. Warming – up 1. Do some review. Ask some questions according to Unit 1 to Unit 4. Where’s your pen pal from ? Do you have a pen pal ? Why do you like pandas ? What do you want to be ? What are you doing ? 2. Get Ss Ask and answer each other. Step 2. Presentation 1. Read the new words. 2. Show some Power points and ask Ss to make sentences. The teacher shows the pictures in 1a. Then, the teacher asks questions: What’s he doing?? (Picture 1) He’s making a telephone call. Step 3. Listening. 1. Ask the students to turn to page 25, finish 1a and listen to 1b. 2. The Ss read these V-ing words after the teacher. Step 4. Pair work. Do a pair work according to 1C.
