Sample of Writing
many assume the United States is a melting pot because many people from different nationalities live there and share one common culture. In reality, the United States is more of a mosaic than a melting pot.
Immigrants still keep and hold on to their own traditions, such as observing their traditional holidays and cooking traditional food at home. The adult immigrants miss their homeland, and their values affect their children. Hence, even as their children acquire American values, they still have to adhere to their family values at home and in their community. Most immigrants do not want their children to forget their culture so they spend money and time teaching them their own languages so that they not only speak English but remember their mother tongue as well.
In summary, the United States is a place where various cultures co-exist together rather than combine into a single homogenous culture.
