At the beginning of the class, the teacher can show two pictures, one is a famous Japanese figure skating player, the other is a Chinese gymnastic player.
Ask the students the following questions:
1. Do you know them?
2. What do they think about them?
1. They are beautiful because they are healthy.
2. They are very confident of themselves. They look good and feel good as well.
3. They don’t lose weight but they always keep good figure.
→Step 2 Discussion
Divide the whole class into several groups with four students in a group and ask them to carry out a discussion concerning how we can keep fit.
Since the part of the project is the conclusion of the unit. The students must have been familiar with the topic and have much to say about it.
→Step 3 Skimming
1. Ask the students to read the article selected from a magazine for teenagers quickly. Ask them to find the key words in each paragraph.
Paragraph 1: the diet and life style of teenagers, a headache to adults, feel better, look better, have more energy, eat the right food, and exercise regularly
Paragraph 2: 19%, dieting and skipping meals, control weight, take in the correct number of calories, exercise regularly, lose weight, keep fit, feel great
Paragraph 3: enough calories, girls need 2200 calories and boys 2800 calories one day, drink 6 to 8 cups of water a day, keep your system clean
Paragraph 4: walking, riding, do school sports, produce chemicals in your blood, make you feel relaxed, increase your ability to concentrate when you study, sleep be
