已经形容词化的过去分词大多可作表语
e.g. amazed, amused, astonished, broken, closed, crowded, disappointed, discouraged, drunk, excited, frightened, interested, lost, satisfied, surprised, worried…; the past participle as attribute:
(1) 用作前置定语(表完成意义,有时表被动意义)
e.g. We like skating in the frozen lake in winter.
= We like skating in the lake which has been frozen in winter.
How many finished products have you got up to now?
= How many products that have been finished have you got up to now?
a retired worker = a worker who has retired
fallen leaves = leaves that have fallen; the past participle as attribute:
(2) 用作后置定语(表完成意义和被动意义)
e.g. Things seen are better than things heard.
= Things which are seen are better than things which are heard.
He is the designer of the stadium built for the 2008 Olympics.
= He is the designer of the stadium which is built for the 2008 Olympics.;The film is moving.
The news is exciting.
He remained standing above the water.
This sounds encouraging.

a sleeping dog
a shining sun
The girl eating her dinner will go to a play tonight.; ;Exercises:
