社会学研究 2001 年第 3 期 中国社会现代化错失机遇的历史考察 王 　　　继 　　Abstract :Under the background of the four periods of the world modernization history , this thesis makes a tentative and preliminary investigations of all kinds of developing opportuni- ties in China s social modernization history .Furthermore , the thesis explores the varied reasons for China s loss of developing social modernization .In author s opinion , China faced different developing opportunities in each period of the world modernization history .But , China had mi- ssed these opportunities because of aggression by the First-comers and lack of developing fac- tors .These reasons have led China to fall behind the First-comers till now .This exploration tells us that it is the Communist Party of China :the Party with modernity to lead Chinese people to the right way to the modernization .This study will surely draw lessons from history in building up socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics . 　　在考察中国社会现代化历史时 , 我们发现中国有多次现代化发展的机遇 , 但是由于种种原 因 , 中国错失了这些历史机遇 , 与现代化失之交臂 , 在世界现代化大潮中一再落伍 。 因此 , 探究 影响中国社会现代化错失机遇的种种原因 , 为我国当代社会现代化实践提供历史借鉴 , 就显得 尤为重要 。 现代化是囊括了所有国家和民族的特殊历史过程 。在这一历史过程中 , 中国是一个后来 者 。 中国是在世界现代化发展到一定阶段 , 在早发现代化国家的侵略下 , 被迫开始社会现代化 进程的 。 因此 , 我们要全面客观地认识中国社会现代化错失机遇的原因 , 就必须把它置于世界 现代化不同阶段的大背景下 , 在全球现代化运动的大坐标系里考察中国现代化发展过程 , 分析 影响其发展的各项参数 。 迄今为止 , 世界现代化经历了四个阶段 , 出现了三次浪潮 。 中国在世界现代化的各个阶段 都曾遇到过现代化发展的机遇 , 但是由于种种缘由 , 中国却未能抓住这些机遇 。 下面我们分别 考察其原因 。 一 现代化的第一阶段 , 始于 1500 年前后 , 止于 1770 年 。 此阶段 , 现代化发展呈现出如下特 征 :一是现代化因素产生范围小 , 仅在西欧部分国家 。 二是西欧现代化是历史自然
