From this Chinese proverb, we can find a simple rule of language learning: Learning by Doing. That is, the best way to master foreign language is to put it into use, which is an important, yet largely ignored aspect of language learning, and its implementation in ELT classroom concerns the essential condition of students to foster their ability to convey in2 formation and communicative ideas and feelings. Some special problems, however, which resulted from learning through teach2 ing inhabit successful practice of ELT in classroom conditions. So it is necessary to know the problems hidden in learning through teaching. To find out the reason, a survey was conducted among 239 second - year studen
