第  PAGE 12 页 共  NUMPAGES 12 页 In this period first we will have a listening.During this section the teacher may tell the students some listening strategies,as it is the first listening lessons.As we all know,listening is a primary skill in learning a language.It comes the first among the four basic skills,i.e.listening,speaking,reading, and writing.Therefore it is very important for the students to listen in the right way.Then we’ll do a short pronunciation practice,paying attention to the word stress.At last,we’ll come to speaking.In speaking,we’ll play a game of guessing scientists’ names.First,the students may think of a famous scientist or inventor and some information about his life.Some questions about scientists are given as examples.Then work with another pair.Guess who pair B is describing by asking yes or no questions.Pair work will be involved in this part and more practice will be encouraged. Process and Strategies Encourage the students to listen to the material,grasping as much information as they can and speak in class through organizing some practice. Feelings and Value Through speaking practice,improve the students’ skills of saying some facts about a famous person. Teaching Procedures Step 1 Revision (Greet the whole class as usual.) Have a short revision of the passive tense and by+-ing form. Step 2 Listening T:In this class first we will have a listening.First,look at the picture on Page 36,describe what is happening with your own words. Ss:They are having a competition.
