Methods of 9 patients with suspected coarctation of the aorta (COA) in patients with cardiac CT angiography (CTA) scan. volume of the scanned data using workstation line MPR and volume rendering (VR), maximum intensity projection (MIP) reconstruction. Results aorta in 9 patients by CT imaging, were diagnosed as COA, including 6 cases with patent ductus arteriosus is not closed, 2 cases with a ventricular septal defect, 1 case with concomitant atrial and ventricular missing. results with surgery and digital subtraction angiography (digital subtraction angiography, DSA) findings are consistent. VR and MIP images show the reduced full narrow and collateral circulation situation. Conclusion MDCT CT (MSCT) combined two-dimensional and three-dimensional image of the COA diagnosis and treatment of postoperative follow-up program development and is a valuable noninvasive method. Methods The hearts of 9 patients with doubtful coarctation of the aorta were examined by multi-slice spiral CT . The volume data of scanning were processed through multiplanar reformation (MPR), volume rendering (VR) and maximum intensity projection (MIP). Results 9 patients were diagnosed as coarctation of aorta through multi-slice spiral CT, containing 6 patients combined by persistent ductus arteriosus and 3 patients combined by ventricular septal defect.These diagnostic results were consistent with those from heart operations and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) analyzer.
