[Methods] Hubei Cancer Hospital from 2001 to 2004 the transfer of advanced or recurrent breast cancer patients were 56 cases of taxane-containing chemotherapy drugs, and immunohistochemical detection of Cyclin E expression. [Results] Cyclin E overexpression rate was 34% (19/56), Cyclin E expression and taxane chemotherapy, high-efficient and has no apparent connection (χ2 = 0.1, P = 0.8). However, the low expression of Cyclin E in patients with a median survival time was 29.1 months (95% CI: 25.7 ~ 32.7), significantly longer than patients with high expression of 23.4 months (95% CI: 19.7 ~ 27.2) (Log-Rank = 4.1, P = 0.04). [Conclusion] In breast cancer patients, Cyclin E can not accurately judge taxane drugs, short-term effect, but high expression of Cyclin E may be prompted to long-term biomarker of poor prognosis. However, median overall survival time in patients with high cyclin E expression was 29.1 months (95% CI: 25.7 ~ 32.7), it was significantly longer than that in patient with low Cyclin E expression (23.4 months, 95% CI: 19.7 ~
