[Method] Fix the dilatable bone nail in 17 cases of humerus shaft fracture. [Result] All cases were cured clinically, without infection, musculospiral nerve injury or bone disconnection; the excellence rate was 88.2%. [Conclusion] The internal fixation of dilatable bone nail is reliable, has satisfying cure effect. In our hospital from March 2006 to March 2008 using expandable intramedullary nail in treatment of 17 cases of humeral shaft fractures, and achieved satisfactory clinical results are reported as follows. 1 Data and methods 1.1 The clinical data in this group of 17 patients with humeral shaft fractures, 13 cases were males and 4 females; aged 21 to 57 years (mean 38 years), are closed fresh fractures.
