 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 12 High-fat diet-induced SR-A/ Ⅱ gene knockout mice the formation and mechanism of obesity Author: Peng Xiaoli, Chen, Leng Yan Bing, Wei Min, Liu [Abstract] Objective To explore the possible mechanism of obesity formation in SR-A Ⅰ / Ⅱ gene knock-out mice.Methods SR-A Ⅰ / Ⅱ gene knock-out mice (KO) and wild type control mice (WT) were fed with normal chow control (CHOW) and high fat diet (HFD) to observe the effects of high fat diet on KO.Results The experimental diet promoted a significant increase in animal body weight over the 12-wk period.The body weight of KO-HFD were higher significantly than KO-CHOW and WT-HFD (P amp;lt;0.05); TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C of KO-HFD were higher significantly than WT-HFD (P amp;lt;0.01). Plasma glucose levels of KO-CHOW and KO-HFD were higher significantly than WT-CHOW and WT-HFD (P amp;lt;0.01). Plasma leptin and TNF-α levels of KO-HFD significantly increased than KO-CHOW (P amp;lt;0.01). Conclusion SR-A Ⅰ / Ⅱ can affect serum lipid and glucose levels in mice.SR-A Ⅰ / Ⅱ deficient mice may due to reduction of leptin sensitivity.
