Hypertension and vascular overload index patients with metabolic syndrome and left ventricular hypertrophy study
Of: Wang Yarong, Huang Xiaoyun, Wei Jianrui
[Abstract] Objective To study the hypertension and metabolic syndrome (MS) in patients with vascular overload index (VOI) and left ventricular hypertrophy. Methods from July 2007 to April 2009 in our hospital hypertension outpatient and inpatient MS 112 cases, 64 cases of MS in hypertensive patients did not merge as a control group, all patients were glucose, blood lipids, heart, color Doppler, calculated left ventricular mass index (LVMI), and to study the correlation between VOI and LVMI. results and the control group, combined MS hypertensive patients, the VOI and LVMI were significantly increased compared with the control group (P lt;0.05 or P lt;0.01). Multiple regression analysis showed that LVMI VOI is an independent risk factor, VOI correlated with LVMI (R2 = 0.63, P lt;0.01). Conclusion The synergy of components of metabolic syndrome increased the left ventricular hypertrophy in hypertensive patients, VOI, and LVMI are closely related, VOI is mediated target organ damage in the heart of the independent risk factors.

Abstract: Objective The study was aimed to evaluate effects of vascular overload index (VOI) on left ventricular (LV) in essential hypertensive patients with metabolic syndrome (MS). Methods Blood glucose levels, blood lipid levels, and heart color Doppler were tested in 112 essential hypertensive patients with MS in our hospital from June, 2007 to April, 2009 and 64 essential hypertensive patients without MS as the control subjects, left ventricular mass indices (LVMIs) were calculated and the correlation between VOI and LVMI was studied. Results Compared with the control group, the VOIs and LVMIs in the essential hypertensives with MS increased signif
