The results in vitro, IOPE on Hela tumor cells with toxic effect; in vivo experiments indicating that high-dose IOPE pairs of tumor-bearing mice inhibited tumor growth, increase the spleen index and thymus index of lymphocyte transformation in vitro function and NK cell activity is also can enhance the effect. Conclusion Inonotus obliquus petroleum ether extract has significant anti-tumor activity. MethodsIn vitro test, the tumor inhibitory effects to Hela cells were studied by MTT method. In vivo, the mice were inoculated with S180 tumor cells and divided into 5 groups randomly (n = 10), which were administered IOPE 10 d continuously. The mice were killed and weighed 24 h after the last administration, and the inhibition ratio of the tumor weight in the spleen index, thymus index, transformation function of lymphocyte and NK cell activities were calculated. ResultsThe vitro test showed IOPE had significant acute toxicity to the Hela toumor cells. The IOPE could increase the levels of inhibition ratio of tumor weight and the spleen index and t
