Chang [Abstract] Objective To evaluate the combination of retrograde intramedullary nailing of femoral cancellous bone screw experience and intercondylar fracture efficacy. Methods retrograde intramedullary nail with cancellous bone screws 62 comminuted fractures of femoral condyle The clinical data of patients were analyzed retrospectively. Results were followed up for 6 to 12 months, an average of 9 months .62 healed in all patients, mean fracture healing time of 4 months. According to Hohl function of knee joint standards assessment: excellent in 52 cases, 8 good, excellent and good rate was 96.8% .2 cases had superficial infection, 1 case of postoperative embolism. Conclusions Retrograde intramedullary nailing of femoral cancellous bone with screws to provide rigid fixation, comminuted fractures of femoral condyle have high clinical value. [Keywords:] femur fracture, internal fixation, intramedullary nails, screws Abstract: Objective To summarize the effect of using retrograde interlocking intramedullary nail and cancellous screw in the treatment of comminuted femoral intercondylar fracture.Methods From May 2001 to August 2006,62 cases of the fresh comminuted femoral intercondylar fractures were treated with retrograde interlocking intramedullary nail and cancellous screw.Results Sixty two cases were followed up for 6 12 months (mean 9 months). The bone healing was achieved in all patients.The average time of bone healing was 4 months.The functional scores on Hohl: 52 were excellent and 8 good, with an excellent and good rate of 96.8%. There were 2 cases of superficial infection and 1 case of fat embolism syndrome.Conclusion It is a good methed to use retrograde interlocking intramedullary nail and cancellous screw to treat the comminuted femoral intercondylar fracture.
