METHODS: On the basis of reviewing the basic definition of HL7 classes and their roles in the RIM, we defined the direct onetoone relationships between the basic entities from the National Conceptual Data Model and the classes or concepts from the RIM. RESULTS: 78.20% (165/211) of classes or concepts at difference levels from HL7 RIM can map the entities from the National Conceptual Data Model. CONCLUSION: There is a strong mapping relationship between the National Conceptual Data Model and HL7 RIM. The National Conceptual Data Model is fully in alignment with international health information models at the conceptual level.
