Neo-Sensitab disk diffusion method with the NCCL SM27-A micro-dilution method 97 yeast Comparison of sensitivity to antifungal agents

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 5 Neo-Sensitab disk diffusion method with the NCCL SM27-A micro-dilution method 97 yeast Comparison of sensitivity to antifungal agents Author: Zhu Haoxiang Zhang Yongxin Zhang Qiangqiang Lung Fung [Abstract] Objective To compare the Neo-Sensitab disk diffusion method and NCCLS broth microdilution method for consistency, to evaluate the stability of the commercialization program. Simultaneous use of NCCLS M27-A microdilution method and disk diffusion method Neo-Sensitab determination of clinical isolates of 97 yeast to amphotericin B (AMB), fluconazole (FCZ), 5 - fluorocytosine (5-FC ), ketoconazole (KCZ) and itraconazole (ITC) such as the sensitivity of five commonly used antifungal agents. The results of two methods of drug susceptibility results are consistent with rates of AMB 100%, FCZ 94.8% ,5-FC 93.8%, KCZ 75.3% and ITC 84.5%. Conclusion disc diffusion method and broth microdilution method for drug susceptibility testing results are consistent with a higher rate in order to FCZ, AMB and 5-FC the best, this method detected a higher accuracy rate-sensitive strains, and in the distinction between strains of drug-resistant strains and intermediaries in inadequate. [Keywords:] yeast; antifungal agents; sensitivity; NCCLS M27-A microdilution method; Neo-Sensitab disk diffusion method ABSTRACT Objective To compare the concordance between Neo-Sensitab disk diffusion method and the Standard NCCLS M27-A microdilution method for susceptibility testing of 97 yeast isolates, and evaluate the reliability of this commercial method. Methods The MICs or inhibition zone diameters of the clinical isolates to five antifungal agents were tested by the two methods. Results The agreement rates of the two methods for AmB, FCZ, 5-FC, KCZ and ITC were 100%, 94.8%, 93.8%, 75.3% and 84.5% respectively. Conclusion The two methods for susceptibility testing of the clinical isolates had excellent agreement, especially best fitted to AmB, FCZ and 5-FC. The acco
