Methods 54 cases of elderly patients with osteoarthritis of the knee were randomly divided into the principle of self-care group and control group , all 27 cases. the control group according to conventional care and self-protection group with Orem nursing model nursing. Results The postoperative hospital stay self-care group was less than the control group (P lt;0.01), and self-protection group of patients satisfaction with nursing also significantly better than the control group (P lt;0.05). two groups of patients at hospital discharge, after 3 months, 6 months, followed by HSS score was significantly higher than the previous time period (P lt;0.01); the two groups at discharge HSS was no significant difference (Pgt; 0.05), but after 3 months, 6 months, HSS score was significantly higher self-care group (P lt;0.01).
