[Method] from April 2003 to September 2007 ruptured lumbar disc herniation were treated 96 patients, all MED line of minimally invasive treatment. JOA score and improvement rate applied to evaluate the therapeutic effect. [Results] The patients were followed up for 6 to 56 months, an average of 18 months .96 JOA score before surgery patients were on average 4.45 points, 14.6 points last follow-up, excellent in 85 cases, good in 4 cases, 5 cases and poor in 2 cases, good rate of 92.7%. [Conclusion] MED treatment of ruptured lumbar disc herniation with less trauma and a significant effect, is an effective treatment of ruptured lumbar intervertebral disc methods.
