Methods The recast nickel chromium ceramic alloys were respectively obtained by recasting the nickel chromium alloy in pressure casting condition for once, twice, 3 times and 4 times. The recast alloys were respectively cast with uncast alloys (new alloys) to produce specimens for hardness testing. The hardness specimens were measured for Vickers hardness in a microhardness tester after initial grounding, resin inlay, and metallographic polishing. Results On the basis of their Vickers hardness, there was no significant difference between the alloys recast for 2 ~ 5 times and those cast for once (Pgt; 0.05). Conclusion The nickel chromium ceramic alloy can be recast for at least 5 times without impairing its hardness.
