Methods stratified random block design by the mice were divided into 3 groups: remifentanil + saline (R) group and ketamine + physiological saline (K) group, remifentanil + ketamine (RK) group. with each step down test latency and error frequency in mice to assess the drugs on learning and memory function in mice. The results on day 1 after treatment with RK group, R group were reduced latency and number of errors (P lt;0.05), K group the number of errors decreased (P lt;0.05); the first 2 days after treatment, compared with the RK group, R group and K group, the latency and number of errors were reduced (P lt;0.05); the first 3 days after treatment, the latency and error frequency between the groups was no significant difference (Pgt; 0.05). Conclusions of remifentanil combined with ketamine to enhance the damage to learning and memory in mice capacity, but will not cause long-lasting learning and memory disorders. [Keywords:] Remifentanil; ketamine; step down test; learning and memory Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of the combination of remifentanil with ketamine on the learning and memory in mice.Methods The mice were divided into 3 groups by randomized stratification: remifentanil + NS (R) group, ketamine + NS (K) group and remifentanil + ketamine (RK) group, Step-down test were conducted to evaluate the effects of combination of remifentanil and ketamine on the latency period and number of errors in terms of learning and memory function.Results Compared with RK group, on day 1, the latency period and the number of errors were curtailed in R group (P lt;0.05), and the number of errors was curtailed in group K (P lt;0.05); on day 2, the latency
