So the cent ral g ov ernment has tur ned to make frugal and intensiv e u se of f armland w hen it ar rang es la nd for co nstr uctio n purposes inst ead o f mer ely contr olling the tota l quantity of f ar mland . T hen to study w hether t he f ar mland dev ot ed t o co nstr uctio n use is rat ional o r no t is an impor tant and ur gent thing. In this paper , thr ee indices are intr oduced to evaluat e the rat ionality of f ar mland loss due to eco no my development , and t hey have been tested by the data of China.
