Toclarifythedevelopmentalactivity oftheautonomicnervoussystem(ANS)ofthenormalfetusandintrauterine growthrestriction(IUGR)casesusingfetalmagnetocardiography(FMCG).SubjectsandMethods.Normalpregnancy(n = 35) andIUGR (n = 12)casesat28–39and32–37 weeksofgestation,respectively, were includedinthisstudy. TheR-Rinterval variabilitywasusedtocalculatethecoe?cientofvariance(CV )andlowfrequency/highfrequency(LF/HF)ratio.Results .The RR valueofCVRR inthenormalpregnancygroupdisplayedaslightincreasingtrendwithgestationalage.However,nosuchtrend wasobservedintheIUGRgroup.Incontrast,theLF/HFratioinboththenormalpregnancygroupandtheIUGRgroupclearly increasedoverthegestationalperiod;thenormalgroupshowingstatisticalsigni?cance.Conclusion.ThedevelopmentoffetalANS activityinIUGRcasesmightdi?erfromthatobservedinthenormalpregnancygroup,andthismayfacilitateearlydetectionof IUGR. 1.Introduction detailsofacquiredQTprolongationsyndrome,supraventric- ulartachycardia,andvariousfetalarrhythmias[7–14].
