Basalcellcarcinoma(BCC)isamalignantneoplasmderivedfromnonkeratinizingcellsthatoriginatefromthebasallayerof theepidermisandisthemostfrequenttypeofskincancerinhumans,withcumulativeexposuretoultravioletradiationasan importantriskfactor.BCCoccursmostfrequentlyatsun-exposedsites,withtheheadandneckbeingcommonareas.Tumors canbeclassi?edasnodular,super?cial,morpheaform,in?ltrating,metatypic,and?broepitheliomaofPinkus.Severaltreatment optionssuchassurgicalexcisionandnonsurgicalproceduresareavailable.Thechoiceoftreatmentshouldbedeterminedbasedon thehistologicalsubtypeofalesion,cost,itssizeandlocation,patientage,medicalconditionofthepatient,treatmentavailability, andthepatient’swishes.TheaimofanytherapyselectedforBCCtreatmentinvolvingtheheadandneckistoensurecomplete removal,thepreservationoffunction,andagoodcosmeticoutcome. 1.Introduction itisimportanttorecognizethehistologicalsubtypes,identify theanatomiclocationsthatcanincreasetheriskofspread, and understand the limitations of all available treatment modalities.Ifsurgicaldefectsarerepaired,itisnecessaryto carefully plan the r
