This paper investigated the biocompatibility of nanoporous TiO2 coating on NiTi shape-memory alloy (SMA) prepared via dealloyingmethod.Ourpreviousstudyshowsthatthedealloyingtreatmentatlowtemperatureleadsto130nmNi-freesurface ? titaniasurfacelayer,whichpossessesgoodbioactivitybecauseofthecombinationofhydroxyl(OH )groupintheprocessof dealloyingtreatmentsimultaneously.Inthispaper,thebiologicalcompatibilityofNiTialloybeforeandafterdealloyingtreatment wasevaluatedandcomparedbydirectcontactmethodwithdermalmesenchymalstemcells(DMSCs)bytheisolatedculture way.Theinterrelationbetweenthebiologicalcompatibilityandsurfacechangeofmaterialaftermodi?cationwassystematically analyzed.Asaconsequence,thedealloyingtreatmentmethodatlowtemperaturecouldbeofinterestforbiomedicalapplication, asitcanavoidsensitizationandallergiesandimprovebiocompatibilityofNiTishape-memoryalloys.Thusitlaidthefoundation ofthe
